Getting Started with Hotline
Setting the Downloads Folder
Inside the Hotline Client folder, there is a folder called "Downloads".
This is where files are stored when you download them. Initially, it is a
folder, but it can point to anywhere on your computer. To do this:
1) Make an alias of the folder you want your downloads stored in.
2) Name the alias "Downloads".
3) Drag the alias inside your Hotline Client folder. If you are asked if you
want to replace the folder, click "OK"
Toolbar Functions
The Hotline toolbar is used to access all of the functions of the client.
There are also menu commands under the Hotline and File menus that correspond
with these commands, however, using the toolbar is much more convenient.

Setting Options
The Options window is used to set your preferences for Hotline. There are
only a few things to configure, such as nickname and icon. Follow these steps
to set up Hotline:

General Options
Put your nickname into the first text box. This is the name that will appear
to other users.
Fill in the address of tracker server you wish to use. For more information,
see the Trackers page.
Check the "Show Private Messages at Back" to display messages from
other users in the back instead of on top of all other windows.
Check the "Queue File Transfers" box if you want all of your Downloads
and Uploads to be queued. This means that you will only have one file downloading
or uploading at a time. When that one finishes, the next one in the queue
will start.
Show Join/Leave in Chat toggles the displaying of users joining and leaving
private chats.
You can change the size, color of the text, and background color that is displayed
in the Chat window. Click on a color to choose a new one.
Icon Options
An icon can be chosen to accompany your nickname in the Users window. Click
on an icon to select it. Notice that a frame is drawn around the icon you
have selected.
Sound Options
You can specify which sounds are played (if any) for the different tasks that
occur when connected.
Advanced Options
This Tab is used for users that connect through a SOCKS firewall. If you do,
enter the address of the firewall in the text box. Most users should not need
to use this option.
When you're finished setting options, Click the Save button to save the changes.
